There's something about certain sounds that never really leave you.

For me, that's grunge and alternative rock.  The kind of music that doesn't try to be perfect, it just feels real. Bands like Foo Fighters, Pearl Jam, and Soundgarden shaped the way I have always heard rock.  It's direct, it's emotional, and it moves with purpose.  

"Deep Down”, it is my way of stepping into that world.
 

Most of our recent music on our last two albums: Hypnotica and Pulse has explored more hypnotic rhythms, layered textures, and more experimental structures.  That's still part of what we do, but with this track, I wanted to strip things back and focus on something simpler:

• Raw Energy
• Strong Rhythm
• Forward Momentum

“Deep Down” doesn't build slowly.  It starts moving and keeps going.  

At its core, this is grunge rock with high energy and forward momentum - something that feels immediate, but still has weight underneath it.  The lyrics are about what sits under the surface - things you think you've moved past, but haven't.

As the first single from the upcoming album Undercurrent, “Deep Down” helps set the tone for what's coming next for us.
